MC_SDSS Extension For ARCGIS

Summary:

MC-SDSS (Multiple criteria spatial decision support system) is an ArcGIS extension developed (.NET) to solve optimization tasks (based on spatial data) using SAW (simple additive weighting) and TOPSIS (Technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution) multiple criteria solution support methods. Using a multiple criteria decision support system within GIS environment organisations can quickly and accurately execute enterprise decisions. Based on criterion for alternative solutions, users can define the best ones and relate them to the exact location without leaving ArcMap. This tight integration of multiple criteria decision making and geographic information systems gives the unique knowledge they need to make the right decision at the right time with a single click.
The main role of MC-SDSS is to deal with the difficulties that human decision-makers have encountered in handling large pieces of complex information in a consistent way. Evaluation of an available alternative is being calculated in accordance with the SAW and TOPSIS methods. MC-SDSS calculates the priority values for each available alternative (rows) characterized by multiple attributes (colums) within GIS mapping environment. Thus, MC-SDSS is beneficial for making preference decisions (such as evaluation, prioritization, selection) over the available alternatives that are characterized by multiple, usually conflicting, attributes. MC-SDSS can be used for GIS based infrastructure planning, optimal site selection, assessment of environmental effects, strategic planning and policy making. MC-SDSS 1.0 for ArcGIS 9.3 SP1 and 9.3.1 tested on WinXP only.

To use this extension properly , .NET Support must be installed.

Installation Process: 

First download these two files

• Dot NET Framework 3.5 
• MC_SDSS Extension

After Downloading

• First install Dot Net framework setup..

• And than install MC_SDSS.msi setup to install the extension.
